The entire process — paperwork, logistics, everything — is handled for you. The $200 visa fee is included in Standard and Luxury bookings. You'll receive your visa within two weeks of departure.
The season runs late September to May. The island is closed to tourism the rest of the year due to monsoon season.
Yes — free Starlink WiFi at every campsite, enough for messages, emails, and sharing photos. Many guests use the trip to disconnect entirely — your call.
For the 7-day trip: 3–4 pairs of shorts/short sleeves, 1–2 pairs of pants/long sleeves, a light jacket for evenings, hat, swimsuit, trekking shoes, sandals, sunscreen, towel, Type G power adapter, US dollars for souvenirs (no working ATM on the island), and a passport valid 6+ months. A complete packing list is sent once you book.
Drones are permitted, but the Socotra government charges a $100 permit fee, paid in cash on the island. You can fly almost anywhere except above private homes and the airport. Getting a drone through Saudi or UAE customs can be unpredictable — it's not guaranteed to make it, but if it does, it's yours to use.
